Wroxham Barns is proud of its efforts to be as kind as possible to the environment – and will soon see the introduction of brand new charging points for electric cars, making us one of the first locations in the Broads where customers will be able to “plug-in” for a super-speedy charge. With a forward-thinking outlook as the use of electric cars continues to evolve and increase and in response to customer demand, we’re looking to help the UK meet its pledge of moving to fully electric cars.
Partnering with Alfa Power, an evolving Electric Vehicle Charging Point Operator throughout the UK and Ireland, the two new designated super-fast charging points are powered by 100% renewable energy and will allow customers to charge their cars from empty in just an hour while they’re on-site enjoying everything that’s on offer at Wroxham Barns and simply pay with Apple, Android or over the phone.
General Manager Ben Marshall said “It’s great to be able to meet the needs of our visitors. We listen to what our customers tell us and it was evident that many were looking to reduce their own environmental impact and asking how we could help too”.
The installation of these charging points strengthens the Wroxham Barns approach to being as environmentally-friendly as possible. In recent months we have invested in providing compostable cups, plates and cutlery in the Farmyard café, avoiding plastic going to landfill, and also ensuring that all food waste on-site is recycled with the energy produced going back into the National Grid.
The brand new electric car charging points are expected to be fully operational from Monday 16th March 2020.
