Wroxham Barns has been named Runner-Up for Customer Service Excellence at the prestigious National Farm Attractions Network Awards. The awards took place on Wednesday 6th February at the National Farm Attractions Network Conference at Drayton Manor in theMidlands where Wroxham Barns received the accolade in the category of attractions welcoming over 75,000 visitors a year.
Ian Russell’s popular tourist attraction in Hoveton on the Norfolk Broads was judged by Jonathan Winchester, managing director of Shopper Anonymous, who said: “We looked at all the submissions in writing first before carrying out a ‘mystery shop’ on site. We considered first impressions, presentation, the quality of service and welcome, and then all the factors involved in having a meal. After honing the entries down to the last few, we held one-to-one interviews with the business owners. Wroxham Barns was fabulous, our mystery shopping experience was excellent and there is no doubt that, as far as East Anglia is concerned, this is the best place. They were miles ahead of the competition, as Ian really stamps his mark on the business, with a thorough customer service programme for his staff and consistency right across the site.”
Ian Russell MBE said: “At Wroxham Barns we strive hard to maintain excellent customer service across the board, whether in the restaurant, shops and studios or Junior Farm, and so it’s very pleasing to find that this comes across and that we are doing our job well. It’s also fantastic to be voted one of the country’s top venues, out of nearly 200 farm attractions. We were also delighted to be asked to host one of two National Farm Attractions Network’s Open Days, on 6th November, when operators from all over the country will visit Wroxham Barns to see how we do things.”
