Everyone is welcome, any age. So come along and have a go at producing your own unique item to take home .

What can I do?
You can decorate pottery:
Choose from a huge variety of ceramics. (This has to stay to be fired)

You can “Decopatch”:
Covering all kinds of animals and objects with special decopatch papers & glue. Wide range of Decopatch items available to take away or to decorate in the studio.

Or make Sand Art:
Filling different shaped bottles with coloured sands making patterns and even pictures.

How long do I need? About 1.5 to 2 hours

Can I take my “item” away with me? If you have chosen to create with ‘decopatch’ or sand art then yes, you can take it with you. If you are painting pottery then it has to stay to be glazed and fired. (collect 3-7 days later)

What does it cost?

The studio fee of £3.50 covers the cost of materials: papers, glues, paints, glazing and firing. The only additional cost is the items to be decorated. Most cost between £3.50 and £16.00

Do I need to book? No not normally – but at busy times like school holidays we recommend that you phone to check availability – especially if there are more than 4 in your party.

How does it all work?
If you’re not familiar with how Made by you works, it’s easy:
1. Choose an idea and a piece of pottery from our range of beautiful pieces – start thinking now about your design!
2. We’ll get you started – everything from how to use the paints to how to get the best results from decorating sponges
3. Leave it with us – then come and pick up your items, glazed and fired around a week later. Your pottery has to be hand dipped, foot wiped and loaded into the kiln. The firing itself takes a good couple of days, and so you will be quoted a date at time of decorating for collection of your finished item which is normally around a week later.

Can I leave my children with you?
Unfortunately not, although we love working with children and helping them do their best effort on their pottery, we aren’t qualified child minders with all the necessary checks for such an awesome responsibility

Can I mix the paint?
We don’t recommend it, because you then can’t guarantee how the colours will come out.

What happens if it goes wrong in the kiln?
We will of course issue you with a voucher to the full value so you can come and have a go at decorating a replacement item.
