Scone Competition – The Winners in the Norfolk Broads

Wroxham Barns' annual Scone Competition on Sunday, September 27, part of the EDP Bidwells Norfolk Food Festival, attracted 47 entries. Judges Graham Barnard and Karen Buchanan, BBC Radio Norfolk, Glyn Williams, season magazine, Neil Haverson, Let's Talk and Antoinette Sandell a Let's Talk competition winner munched their way through a superb selection of plain, cheese, fruit and freestyle scones.
Category winners were:
- Plain – Marian Skinner from Neatishead
- Cheese – Elaine Pick from Little Plumstead
- Fruit – Juliet Hutchin from Hellesdon
- Freestyle – Anita Pye from Corpusty
Anita Pye was the most successful competitor coming third in fruit and plain, as well as winning the freestyle category.
The freestyle category attracted an exciting range of ingredients including onions, peppers, olives and oranges.
