New Norfolk Author Launches Book in the Norfolk Broads

New Norfolk Children's Author Launches Christmas Elephant Book – Wroxham Barns
Sarah Temple (24) is launching her first children's book Baby Elephant saves Christmas at Wroxham Barns at 11am on Friday, July 24. Sarah will also do a public reading of the book at 11.30am.
Sarah, from Salhouse worked part-time at Wroxham Barns until the end of March. She had been writing and illustrating the story for some time, but Cammy, Wroxham Barns' resident elephant, who arrived last autumn, inspired her to complete the project. Sarah has self-published the book, which is aimed at the 5-8 age range, costing £4.99.
Wroxham Barns will donate £1 from sales on Friday of Baby Elephant saves Christmas to the Born Free Foundation and CLIC Sargent Children's Charity, the two charities supported by last year's Go Elephants! project in Norwich.
Cammy or Camouflagephant, her full name, took part in Go Elephants! located on St Julian's Alley. She has a collection bucket at Wroxham Barns and continues to raise money for Born Free and CLIC Sargeant with her new friend, Harriet the Hippo, who joined her in early June following the North Walsham Hippo Trail.
Sarah Temple, who is going to Norwich University College of the Arts in September to study graphic design leading to a degree in animation said: "Illustrating, writing and publishing my book has been a challenge, but also very enjoyable. Wroxham Barns is the ideal location for the launch as it is such a good family day out. I hope local families enjoy the story. Harriet the Hippo is already getting me thinking about a sequel!"
Ian Russell, Director Wroxham Barns said: "Congratulations to Sarah for producing a really fun book for young children. I hope we sell lots of copies for her at Wroxham Barns."
