All exhibitors at the show have been asked to create displays with a Henry VIII theme. Liz Barnes from LeGrice explained: "The Field of Cloth of Gold was a fabulous exhibition of Tudor power, when Henry VIII met Francis I of France in 1520 in a sumptuous tented village."
The LeGrice display includes 40 bowls of roses featuring swathes of gold roses, as well as one green and one white bowl of roses representing Henry VIII's colours. Wroxham Barns businesses have pitched in to help build the backdrop for the roses in their spare time. Kathleen Green from Sew Creative made five small golden tents using golden metallic cloth. Potter, Tricia Francis created and painted the banner and five pennants, Chris Hutchins, Norfolk Sketches provided backing for the banner and Pat Trett, woodturner made all the wooden poles and bases plus finials for the tent tops.
Liz Barnes continued: "Our Field of Cloth of Gold stand has been a great team effort. I would like to thank Chris, Kathleen, Pat and Tricia for their enthusiasm and support. I hope the visitors to Hampton Court Flower Show enjoy our celebration of Henry VIII's youthful power."
