Scone Competition Winners in the Norfolk Broads

Category winners were:
· Plain – Teresa Grant from Thorpe St Andrew (Middle photo)
· Cheese – Mrs Christmas from Swafield
· Fruit – Ann Massingham from Cockthorpe
· Freestyle – Chloe Fowle from Binham
Teresa Grant was the most successful competitor coming third in fruit and freestyle, as well as winning the plain scone category.
The freestyle category, which was new for 2008, attracted an exciting range of ingredients including salami, chives, syrup, cherries and blueberries.
Ian Russell, Director Wroxham Barns said: "Thank you to everyone who entered our scone competition. I am particularly pleased that several people rose to the challenge of the freestyle category and look forward to even more ingenious concoctions next year. I would also like to thanks our judges for their hard work and dedication in the search for the best scones."
Wroxham Barns is one of Norfolk's most popular visitor attractions offering a range of shopping and crafts, together with activities for younger family members. Established by Director Ian Russell MBE in the early 1980s, Wroxham Barns opened on May 24, 1983 and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
Winner of East of England Tourism's, Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, Outstanding Customer Service Award 2007.
